It is my pleasure to extend my heartiest welcome to all the students as well as those who are aspiring to take admission in this esteemed Institution, in the academic session 2024-25. This premier co-educational institution was established on 29^thAugust, 1979. Since then, this institution has endeavoured to set high benchmarks in academic excellence and also aims at rendering quality services in socio-cultural and other allied areas. This institution of higher education is beyond the threshold of the fifth decade of existence- it now occupies a leading role in teaching, learning, research and extension activities. No wonder, today it occupies a place of pride among the contemporaneous institutions of Assam.

The third cycle accreditation of the college by the NAAC with ‘A’ grade was an outcome of the strenuous efforts of the college fraternity. The “Dhoparguri Satra Authority”, “Hajo No. 1 Gaon Panchayat Samabay Samity Ltd.”, Lt. philantrophist Suren Das and many made immense contributions in establishing the college- we extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of them.  Located at Panchatirtha and Poa-Mecca famed Hajo and on the Hajo-Daulasal, Mukalmua Road, the college has a ‘green’ ambience and congenial atmosphere for learning. As principal, when I joined this college on August 4, 2016, I was overwhelmed with joy, on the very first day, having just a look at the scenic beauty of the college and around. I was equally impressed by the exemplary conduct and disciplined behaviour of the students and painstaking and industrious effort of the staffs- it also no doubt boosted my morale and raised my zeal and enthusiasm to work harder. The Governing Body of the college has also visioned well for academic and infrastructural development of the college.

My dear student, this Prospectus of the college is a compendium of essential information about our college. It will help you to understand the college in a better way. My appeal to the student community is to work hard and achieve success, for hardwork is the only key to a successful life. We have already initiated online admission process in Higher Secondary, FYUGP Semester Courses (B.A., B.Sc., B.Voc. and BCA) and PGDCA programme from the last year and it will certainly help all of you to take admission in a flexible way. The B.Sc. programme with Major in five core Science subjects were introduced from the academic session 2018-19. I am confident that this has fulfilled a long felt need of the students.

The college is running P.G. in Political Science from the academic session 2019-20, UGC approved B.Voc. Programme in MLT under Gauhati University. The B.C.A. programme of our Institution under GU has already received due approval from the AICTE in this year (2024).  Additionally, we are also running various skill enhancement and job oriented vocational courses under PMKVY 4.0. We are about to start B. Com. programme and has received Letter of Intent (LOI) from NCTE for Integrated Teachers’ Education programme (ITEP) or BA-B.Ed. and B.Sc.-B.Ed. Programme.
